First Look: Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar 2013

Beauty advent calendars are getting more and more popular and I personally love the idea of getting mini gifts every day leading up to Christmas (honestly, who wouldn't?!)

This year, the one I'll be keeping an eye on is the Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar.



As you can see, this calendar contains some fabulous minis and it's great to see that they all still come in lovely packaging and are true miniatures of the full sized products. There's some fantastic brand names inside, including Victor & Rolf, Elemis, Kiehl's, Lancôme and Yves Saint Laurent and a diverse mix of skincare, perfume and make up.

The one thing that does bug me (for this and many beauty advent calendars it seems) is that they only have 24 doors. I swear advent calendars always used to have 25? As someone who doesn't tend to get many Christmas presents I'd quite like to have the 'best' gift (maybe a full-sized product) in a final 25th door to open on Christmas day itself. I guess I'll just have to buy that separately ;)

This beauty advent calendar comes in at £84 which is pricier than the others I've seen so far this year (Ciate, Boots, Benefit) but I think that is a reasonable cost given the range and quality of the products inside.
