Review: Sleek i-Divine Vintage Romance Palette

Eyeshadow

My favourite eyeshadow brand has always been Sleek, they always have such vibrant, high pigment powders that glide on effortlessly and stay well into the day (or night). With autumn in the air, it was great to hear that Sleek were releasing these warm, rich shades in their next palette; the i-Divine Vintage Romance palette.

I was most excited to try the deep red shades as this colour is very rare in eyeshadow and I didn't own any like it. I really wanted to try a smokey eye with a more autumnal feel to it and I think that sometimes grey (despite being one of my favourite colours) can leave me looking a little washed out, being as pale and light-haired as I am.

Each shadow is named showing the progression of a relationship; Vintage Romance.  From meet in Madrid and Romance in Rome through to Marry in Monte Carlo and Forever in Florence. A lovely, warming idea even though I'm a recent singleton!

The palette has a mix of matte and shimmer shadows, the latter being the easiest to apply - needing very little powder to get great coverage.

Here are the swatches in the same order as they appear in the palette, taken in varying lighting conditions:

Swatches Vintage Romance Swatches

Top L-R: Pretty in Paris, Meet in Madrid, Court in Cannes, Lust in LA, Romance in Rome, Propose in Prague

Bottom L-R: A Vow in Venice, Marry in Monte Carlo, Honeymoon in Hollywood, Bliss in Barcelona, Forever in Florence, Love in London

My favourite shades are the pale, golden Meet in Madrid, the intense berry purple Honeymoon in Hollywood and the deep mystic purple of Bliss in Barcelona. Love in London is also very pretty, a rich black with tiny flecks of silver glitter.

I wasn't too keen on the matte shades Romance in Rome and Propose in Prague as they didn't apply quite as smoothly.

Lastly here's a quick snap of the first look I tried out with this palette, for this I used the golds Meet in Madrid & Court in Cannes, followed by the purple Honeymoon in Hollywood and Forever in Florence.

This palette definitely lives up to their previous palettes with some gorgeous colours I know I'll be wearing throughout the autumn. It's fantastic value at £7.99 available from Sleek online and in-store at Superdrug.

    1. Thanks :) yeah Sleek are really great for high pigment eyeshadow. I was bought a palette years ago for my birthday and I've pretty much only used Sleek since for eyeshadow!
