Review: Essie polish in Silken Cord

nail varnish

Essie have generally always impressed me with their polishes and their shade Silken Cord was no exception.
A timeless bold red, suitable for most seasons; a bright, uplifting colour for summer but also a festive winter warmer. Perfect!

NOTD

Although the Essie brushes are a little thin for my liking, they still apply really smoothly and this Silken Cord shade in particular has fantastic coverage. Whilst I'd recommend a mere 2 coats, I reckon you would also get away with just 1, it really is high pigment colour.

NOTD

It did not take too long for this polish to dry and the end result is very glossy and neat. It lasted really well and even survived a long bath without any peeling or chipping - impressive! I'll certainly be coming back to this for some Christmas manicures!

Red NOTD

Essie Silken Cord is currently on sale at £7.50 from John & Ginger! What's your favourite Essie shade?
