Floral Nails

Pretty floral prints have been everywhere lately, so why not try them out on your nails?

You will need:

Nail varnish in pastel blue, white, bright pink, bright green, pastel green
Striping brush
Angled tip brush
Clear base and top coats

1) Start with adding your clear base coat to clean, bare nails, followed by the pastel blue varnish (you could also swap this for another pastel shade, I've tried yellow in the past).

2) Once the blue has fully dried, use the thin striping brush to gradually add thin white stripes to every other nail. It's really useful to have an opaque white polish for this, I recommend the budget Natural Collection polish available from Boots that I've used here.

3) Then we need a white base for the flowers. Using the angled tip brush, add some white circular blobs to the nails without stripes, I suggest 3 in total, then give each of them 2 little tapered leaf shapes on either side of the blob. This doesn't have to be particularly precise. Repeat, adding some to the corners of your striped nails.

4) Using the angled tip brush, swirl and dab a mix of the bright pink with some white over the circular blobs you made earlier (but leave the leaf shapes on each side white). Again this doesn't need to be particularly detailed, I just try to get a nice speckled mix of white, pale pink and bright pink for each flower.

5) Finally add your pastel and bright greens over the remaining white leaf shapes with the angled tip brush. Don't worry too much about them being perfect. Once you're sure they're dry enough, add a final clear top coat to seal the design. I think this could look really cute with a matte top coat, but I'm yet to try this.
